rooo

My first attempt at photoshop turned out alright. I photographed the beaded necklace surrouding the wooden pencils. Then I used A photograph of the ferris wheel at bonnaroo underneath of that. In the background I scanned the same beads that surround the pencils but I moved them as the scanner was working to give a sense of motion and flow. It took me forever to crop the pencils and the beads using the wand tool or whatever its called . My eyes and my brain were aching from stareing at the computer screen. I don't quite fancy technology sometimes.....

Took this picture at White clay while exploring with a friend. I thought it was pretty neat how it looked sort of like it was floating. Well actually it is floating just not in the air! And the shadow tells you that it is in water.

Old school

I thought the lecture on Monday evening was very interesting! It's nice to know that there have always been people throughout time who are pushing the creative envelopes as we all are trying to. I found it fascinating how an ambrotype is made of a glass negative with a black background which therefore makes it positively visible. Also, as the tin types came along they used them like business cards with their advertisments on the back and added hand colored additions. I liked looking at the old pictures of bulidings around campus and imagining life back then. Sometimes I wish I were born in the 1800s...
